To mark the Queen’s Jubilee we had our very own celebration day in school on Monday 28th May. All the children ,staff and helpers dressed up in clothes from different eras:
RK and R1/S – Royalty
1V and 2/3G – 1950s
3/4EM – 1960s
4P – 1970s
5/6JW and 6H – 1980s/1990s
‘The Queen’ welcomed children and parents into school first thing in the morning assisted by Mrs Jones (our Headteacher) – see if you can recognise them both in the pictures.
Throughout the day the children worked in mixed age groups on different activities, led by the staff and helpers. These were – 70s disco dancing, Jubilee art and garden decoration, silhouettes of the queen, t-shirt printing, traditional british games, World Cup final 1966, jubilee rap and cooking.Everyone had lots of fun.
To end the day we had a whole school assembly in the village hall to showcase events of the day. As they left the hall each child was presented with a jubilee flag and a special jubilee souvenir medal which had been kindly donated by Mrs Linneker, one of the residents from our village. We would like to thank her on behalf of everyone.
